Blogger Arises
As one who enjoys integrating educational technology and as one who likes teaching others about it even more, using a blog seems like a no-brainer. It is a way to reach out to the world and contribute to the world of information. I can't wait to show my students how to use one... administration is still a bit hesitant--sort of like the "over protective parents" who are trying to shield students from the perils of web-workings. They approved a district-based blog, where only students, parents, and teachers can read their postings. Why not teach them safe and appropriate webehavior in first grade? Why not create open blogs for students to participate in, while monitoring content? How long will it be until we can get our kids exploring their world?

Hello, world!
After spending three days surrounded by "Tech Talk" at the PA Educational Technology Expo and Convention, I came home feeling rejuvinated and excited to get to work. The casual conversations and the intriguing sessions I attended were stimulating. I found myself arguing points and using words I never knew were in me. It felt like my mother ship had called me home.
So, in the spirit of using educational technologies personally, this blog will be a combination of work and personal business.
I always felt a little sorry for the AV kids wheeling machines down the hallway in high school, but I guess maybe I was a little jealous...
